God, in his infinite wisdom, speaks to mankind in light of their personal understanding. Jesus spoke parables that used common items to explain great spiritual truths. He spoke of birds, lilies of the field, flowers and trees.
The aspect of God as the three in one Trinity is a great Christian mystery. Men have tried to explain the Trinity in terms that are easy to understand. For instance St. Patrick, the bishop of Ireland, explained the Trinity as a three leaf clover. It has three leaves yet is one even as God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit and is one.
As a comedian, God frequently tells me great truths in comic terms that I can understand and enjoy.
Last night, I was wonderfully surprised by God teaching me about the mystery of the Trinity by using a PIZZA.
In a dream, I was told that the Trinity was like a pizza in a box. Then I poked a hole through the cardboard pizza box with my index finger or a pencil to expose the pizza inside. I felt that this was showing that the box was Jesus, God in the flesh. The cardboard represented the wood of the cross. The pizza itself was God who brings us into wholeness and completion. The hole that I poked through the pizza box was the Holy Spirit which pierces the physical realm so that we can partake of God.
What an incredibly powerful symbol of the threefold nature of God!
