This morning I woke up with the words, "You have to look behind the eulogy" ringing in my head from the dream I just had.
Out of context, this sentence would seem to make no sense at all. However, all this week, since we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has been giving me post resurrection messages.
A eulogy is "a speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly, typically someone who has just died." The dream is showing us what is praiseworthy about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
When I woke up, I went to my bible and randomly put my finger on a verse of scripture.
Romans 6:22 “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.”
By his sacrifice, Jesus Christ brought to us the gifts of:
1. Being made free from sin
2. Becoming the servant to God
3. Having fruit unto holiness
4. Having the ultimate blessing of everlasting life.
This verse really pinpoints what we have to praise God for because of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. That is what is behind the eulogy of Jesus Christ.
