Then I thought, "Why not give cheese to the boy?" So I gave him a couple of slices of cheese. He was happy. The dinner was a success.
This begs the question, what's the big deal about cheese? The answer didn't come till the following day.
Last night, before going to bed, I had a vision. I saw a slice of cheese next to a Roman pillar. Then God spoke to me saying, "I'll give it to you if you ask and really seek it."
When I woke up and read the morning newspaper I realized that it is National Cheeseburger Day! Today, God is honoring the cheese on the cheeseburger.
I know in dream language that hamburger represents God's provision. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and he gladly shares them with us. Cheese is a milk product. God led the children of Israel into the land of milk and honey, the promised land of abundance and blessing.
The big deal about cheese is that if we ask God in prayer for our provision and don't let him off the hook he will give it to us. We must pray and keep seeking the answer. My grandson Charlie didn't give up on his cheese for his chicken and neither should we give up in our persistent and expectant prayer to God.
Luke 18:1b "...men ought always to pray, and not to faint;"
